The VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Theatrical, Special Effects and Hair and Media Make-up is a occupational qualification for learners seeking a career as an employed and/or self-employed theatrical media make-up artist working with performers to a high level of occupational ability, providing hair and make-up services in the media, theatre, performing arts, fashion and photographic industries. This qualification is one of two VTCT qualifications in theatrical hair and media make up. This qualification is larger than the VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Fashion, Theatre and Media Hair and Make-up studies. Whilst both qualifications qualify learners to become professional Media make-up artist, this qualification requires learners to achieve more units and to develop a greater breadth of technical skills. Hence, this qualification is more suitable for learners who wish to focus the majority of their Study Programme on hair and media make-up. In contract, the VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Fashion, Theatre and Media Hair and make-up studies is more suited to learners who wish to undertake a Level 3 Technical level qualification alongside other smaller qualifications.
